Date and place of birth unknown.
George Tomkins married Elizabeth Wilkinson by licence on 19th May 1774 at St George Bloomsbury, London. The entry shows that George was a batchelor of the parish of St George Bloomsbury and that Elizabeth Wilkinson was a spinster of the parish of St George Hanover Square, London. Both parties signed the register. The witnesses to the marriage were Martin Wilkinson and John [Denziloe?].
1774-1779: Bloomsbury
The burial entry for his son John Wilkinson Tomkins shows that the family were living at King Street, St George Bloomsbury, London in March 1778.
1783: Lambeth
The burial entry for his son Augustus Keppell Tomkins shows that the family were living at Fore Street, Lambeth in August 1783.
There are two other Tomkins buried in the Parish of St Mary's, Lambeth, who are recorded as residing at Fore Street. There is no indication as to whether these are related. However, they could be further children or adult relatives:
Hannah Tomkins, resident of Fore Street, buried 15th September 1780, in St Mary Lambeth.
Packington George Augustus Tomkins, resident of Fore Street, buried 17th January 1786 in St Mary Lambeth.
If these Tomkins are related, is there a connection with the Packington Tomkins from St George Hanover Square who is buried on 18th March 1778 at St Paul's, Covent Garden?
The date and location of George's burial is unknown. However, we do know that a George Tomkins is a witness to the marriage of his son Augustus in 1807.
