On the night of 6th June 1841 Emily Carpenter (3) was living with her parents William (30) and Emily (25).

On the night of 30th March 1851 Emily Eliza (12), scholar, was living with her parents William (41) and Emily (35) and her brothers: Alfred William (8), scholar; Ernest Lionel (4), scholar; and Francis Colin (1).

On the night of 2nd April 1871 Emily Carpenter (33) was a servant in the household of Henry E. B. Harris (42), a general practitioner from Bath. Henry lived in the house with his wife Emma and son Edmund. Emily was the only servant employed by Henry.
Emily Eliza Carpenter (36) married Mark Shackleton (45, a widower) on 8th June 1873 at St Peter's Church, Walworth in the Parish of St Mary Newington, Surrey. Emily was Mark's third wife. At the time of their marriage Mark was a 'Railway Waggon Fitter' and both parties were living at Cook's Road. The witnesses to the marriage were Emily's brother and sister - Robert Carpenter and Jessie Sarah Carpenter.

On the night of 3rd April 1881 Emily E. Shackleton (43) was living with her husband Mark Shackleton (54), a railway wagon fitter originally from Leeds, and their children: Ernest A. (6), Rosetta E. (4) and Lucas (1) - all of whom were born in Wimbledon. Mark's son Edmond(9) from his second marriage was also living with the family. Mark's daughter Lucy (24) from his first marriage was working nearby as a cook (domestic).

On the night of 5th April 1891 Emily Shackleton (53) was living with her husband Mark Shackleton (63), a crane fitter on the London and South Western Railway (LSWR), and their children: Ernest (16), a telegraphist on the London and South Western Railway (LSWR); Rosetta E. (14), a scholar; and Cyrus (11), a scholar. Mark's son Edmund (19) from his previous marriage was also living with the family and working as a low machinist for the London and South Western Railway (LSWR).
Mark Shackleton died in 1895.

On the night of 31st March 1901 Emily Shackleton (62), a widow, was living with her children: Rosetta (24), a dressmaker working on her own account from home; Cyrus (21), a house and estate agent.
1911: 32 Florence Road, Wimbledon, London.
On the night of 2nd April 1911 Emily Shackleton (72), a widow, was living with her children: Rosetta Emily (34), a dressmaker; Cyrus Frederick (31), a clerk working for a builder. The house had five rooms.
Died Tuesday 16th January 1923. Buried in Wimbledon Cemetery.
